Employee Spotlight: Alice Fong
An understanding of global dynamics, data integrity, trade management, and business processes are all vital to running an efficient supply chain. As Senior Manager, Trade Operations, Alice Fong has spent her years at Converge learning and perfecting her knowledge in each of these areas and is enthusiastic to continue to learn and improve as she provides strategic support for supply chain companies globally.
After joining the team in 2003, Alice was drawn in by the
unique company culture that Converge has to offer. “It is clear that everyone is motivated and passionate about independent distribution and wants to help their customers build strategic supply chains,” she shares. Supporting global trade management, working on Data Integrity Control, and driving processes to be automated—Alice works in a variety of sectors that drive Converge’s business.
Now, nearly nineteen years after joining Converge, Alice continues to work hard developing other employees’ talents and enhancing operational efficiency. As she passes her experience on to her team, she shares that she is consistently motivated and inspired by the employees around her every day. She says, “Converge is distinct with its open-minded management that encourages employees and provides opportunities to individuals. As a global company, I enjoy working on the same supply chain solutions globally, communicating with each other from around the world, despite the cultural barriers.”
Alice’s manager, Lawrence Tan shared, “Since she was hired, Alice has continually exhibited a ‘can-do’ attitude. When it comes to supporting business needs, she shows no hesitation when asked to spend time and effort on tasks outside of her role. Not only this, but she is well-respected by our team all around the world, regardless of department. This respect is well-earned after years of observing her diligent service and incredible expertise.
Looking back, she remembers that Converge helped her grow in the same way that she is now training her team explaining that “As a manager, leadership gives you the trust and support to manage the team and to carry out the tasks on your own plans. It has helped me to cultivate innovation and build up a sense of responsibility, just like my younger colleagues are now.”
As Alice looks to the future, she knows that Converge will remain a top contender in the electronics industry, “With best-quality services and best practices that are implemented here, Converge will continue to offer a diverse range of products and services, connecting customers to our global network.”
