Biden Administration Announces “Council on Supply Chain Resilience,” Looks to Revamp America’s Supply Chain
Earlier this week, President Biden announced several new actions that emphasized strengthening America’s supply chain strategy as part of his “Bidenomics” plan. Notably, the president signed an Executive Order that will establish the Council on Supply Chain Resilience, a council-level task force dedicated to tackling supply chain disruptions. This task force will work with several different types of entities from family farms to larger businesses.
Furthermore, the Biden Administration announced they have developed several cross-government partnerships with the goal of bolstering America’s supply chain data-sharing capabilities. This development will help the country better forecast and monitor supply chain activity, which will help the United States cope with supply chain volatility. The Biden Administration’s new supply chain strategy also looked to aid sustainability efforts.
In another significant update from this White House announcement, the DOE (Department of Energy) announced $275 million in grant selections that will boost energy supply chains. Components for EV’s (electric vehicles), critical material production, onshore wind turbines, and other sustainable operations will receive grants. The long-term outlook of the EV market and sustainable energy remains promising. Building Resilience Through Innovation
